A lot of stuff happened, since I blogged about my trip to Tokyo. In late May, I finished the final draft of my PhD thesis on the implications of third-party access to social networking data and hope that to defend my thesis soon. Currently, we are enjoying our last days in Barcelona before we return back to Vienna in beginning of August.
Regarding research, I have been working on analyzing social networking apps and planed new research project. As soon as our research on social app security and privacy have been accepted at a peer-reviewed conference, I will publish the essence of our findings here.
In 10 days I will attend OHM2013 with some colleges from our research lab. I am already super-excited to attend OHM2013 which also marks the end of my PhD studies, which I basically started with HAR09.

ICT in Spain 6 years later

We arrived well in Barcelona and six years later I reside in sunny Spain again. To my surprise the ICT situation has improved quite a lot over the past years. Flats in Barcelona now have Internet connection speeds of 10Mbits or even 20Mbits and low cost mobile phone operators such as Pepephone did emerge. Moreover, Amazon recently launched an online store in Spain. With all these improvements there is nothing keeping us from blogging our experiences in Barcelona from time to time, have a look at: Ratoncito y Elefante (in German)
